Could The X-ray Have Missed A Hairline Fracture Of Ankle That Is Causing Swelling And Tingling Sensation?

My daughter sprained her ankle 5 weeks ago. There was severe bruising and swelling. The bruising is gone now but still swollen quite a bit and she has tingling and numbness in her foot when she puts weight on it. They did an X-ray the day of injury and said it wasn't broken. Could they have missed a hairline fracture and that is what's causing the continued swelling and tingling sensation?

hello, cause of the swelling might also be because of improper rest after ankle injury, in case it was hairline fracture it would have healed by now. i would advice to take rest , wear an ankle support while walking, avoid any running or jumping activities. hope this helps
