Could The Swelling In My Lower Leg And Ankle A Symptom Of Acute Synovitis?

I have just been diagnosed with acute synovitis of my left knee. I find that my lower leg and ankle is swelling, I want to know if this is part of the condition. I am improving some taking ibuprofen and cold / heat therapy. do you have concrete information about the condition and more importantly the prognosis. Thank you.

Yes, the swelling of the left leg and ankle would be related to the synovitis of the knee joint.
In addition to the use of the ibuprofen and cold/heat therapy, you should elevate the limb at intervals during the course of the day.

Synovitis referst to inflammation of the synovial lining of the joints. The synovial membrane the joint cavity of some joints such as the knee.

There are different potential causes such as trauma, psoriatic arthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, TB.

The prognosis would be affected by the exact cause of the problem.
