Could The Red And Raised Scars Be Treated?

I would like to get a tattoo covering scars from 10-11 months ago, and I had a consultation today and he said he would like them to turn white and become less raised before tattooing. Is there any way I can make them heal faster? I ve been continuously using Mederma on them, but I still have around 10 scars that are still red and raised, one being 1/2 inch thick and 2 inches long.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having hypertrophic scar.
My treatment advice is -
1. Apply a hexilak gel twice daily on it.
2. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months.
3. Other treatment options are intralesional steroid given by a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
