Could The Pain In Neck Around The Stabbed Area Be A Matter Of Concern?

My son fell on his pencil at school today & it went in his neck a little. He did go to the nurse & she cleaned it real well (it was bleeding a little), but she said to keep an eye on it. This evening he has been complaining about it neck area hurting around were the pencil stabbed him. Should I be concerned?
