Could The Gall Bladder Or Pancreatitis Be Causing Epigastric Episodes?

Hello. I am a 49 year old female post lap chole in August 2013. Since then I have had 3 episodes starting December 2013 (Feb 2014, and Tuesday, April 8th) of severe epigastric pain similar to what I thought was my gallbladder (gallbladder was edematous with stones) with each episode lasting longer than the previous one. My physician thinks it is pancreatitis even though I have none of the factors - triglycerides are good, I am not a heavy drinker, my diet is not high in fat content. I have no warning of when the attacks might happen, the last one was Tuesday, I had pineapple and grapes for breakfast with coffee. The attack started at 10 am and ended around 6pm. The only thing I could call residual from the attack is my back is a little sore in the very center (and that may be attributed to my job). Any thoughts?

HI...There are two common possibilities keeping in mind your history,
1.It could be repeated episodes of pancreatitis, since you were patient of cholelithiasis there could be stone in CBD or pancreatic duct which might be causing pancreatitis.
2.you might be having gatric erosions or ulcer which could be detected by endoscopy. So I would recommend, next time you get pain plan for contrast enhanced CT of abdomen and pelvis with or without endoscopy with the help of a doctor.
