Could The Body And Joint Aches Be Related To Depression?

I have been dealing with depression for years now and I was better for a while. I talked with my doctor and she said it was okay to ease off my Antidepressants . Everything was going fine until all of a sudden about two weeks ago everything got worse than before. Crying nearly continuously. Sleeping 14+ hours a day and having lots of stomach cramps. She said it was okay to start them again at the starting dose. So far it's been rough and very emotional and lots of tears. Now, I am lying in bed in lots of pain, I was gradually getting sore body aches over the day but now I feel like I have been run over. Everywhere is aching, my joins are hurting and my stomach, back, and right side feel like they are in knots. Rest, Advil and hot showers don't help. Could this be related to the depression and is there anything I can do?

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. The current symptoms could definitely be due to depressive disorder. Treatment is always with the help of psychiatric medicines. You also should look at your ability to manage the symptoms. I should say, even after these many days of suffering, you had not learned to manage your depression without medicines. Usually, Clinical depression is usually treated with a combination of psychiatric medicines, psychotherapy, life style changes, meditation and exercise. You should consult a psychiatrist / psychologist for psychotherapy and other methods. I am sure, you will be able to manage your depression without medicines after undergoing these therapies. Take care.
