Could The Blood In Urinalysis Be Caused By The Vaginits?
I have a bad case of atrophic vaginits... although I have had this for about 3 years, it seems to have come to a crisis with burning after urination. I have no pain during urination but urinalysis has found microscopic blood and a visit to the urologyst is in order... could this blood be caused by the vaginits. MY obgyn put me on estrace cream twice a week, the swelling has gone down some, but not so much the swelling I can see in the urethra... I am a bit scared... I know my urologyst will most likely want a cystoscopy and complete UT workup...
Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist,i can understand your concern. The vaginitis will not cause microscopic bleeding(hematuria). You need to have urine culture done. Cystoscopy isn't indicated in all cases of microscopic hematuria. You'll need to get an Urologist to examine you. Do your blood routine, creatinine,RBS,platelets, and LFT. Get an ultrasound scan-KUB, before seeing the Urologist. Drink 10-12 glasses fluids daily. If you've any doubts, you may send the reports to me, as a direct question. Dr.Matthew J. Mangat.
