Could Swelling Of Fingers At Night Be A Symptom Of Trigger Finger?

during the night, my fingers seem to swell and in the morning a few of my fingers lock up. I researched this consition and the symptoms are similar to something called trigger finger . After movement, the locking eventually goes away, but returns if I rest my hand for a period of time. the locking fingers always feel somewhat swollen at all times. Is the locking caused by swelling? What is causing the swelling and how can I prevent it?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of arthritis. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a rheumatologist for a physical exam and performing some tests : complete blood count, PCR, ESR, FR plasma levels, ANA and ANCA titer antibodies, blood electrolytes, uric acid plasma levels. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
