Could Sharp Pain In Right Abdomen While Breathing Indicate Appendicitis?

My 15 year old daughter is comlaining about shorp pains in her right abdomen. It hurts when she breathes. She is concerned that she has appendicitis. She does not have bloating, low-grade fever or nausea. Do we need to tgake her to emergency and get an ultrasound?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should send her to ER and get an ultrasound immediately. I believe it can be appendicitis and the only treatment is surgery.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
