Could Severe Acne On Cheeks And Jaw With Irregular Periods Indicate Early Menopause?

Hi. I am 29 and suffering from severe acne on cheeks and jaw and irregular and missed periods, having stopped taking dianette in January. My skin has been problematic for 2 10 years and I initially had issues with my period in Jan 2014 for two months before going on to dianette. I am extremely worried about the possibility of this being early menopause.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Acne and irregular periods are suggestive of hormonal imbalance and not early onset of menopause. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and hormonal profile.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
