Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Recurred Rashes On Chest Be Due To Intake Of Bisoprolol For Hypertension?
My cardialogist prescribed Bystolic for my hypertension. I developed a rash and a swollen tongue. When I went back to see him he has now prescribed Bisoprolol. I have been taking this for three days now and my rash has appeared on my chest once again. Not sure if I am also allergic to this medication and am worried. What advice can you give me?
hi, It is believed that if you develop rash after taking a new drug, the culprit is the drug itself unless otherwise proved. If you are allergic to bystolic, you can be allergic to bisoprolol also (both belong to same class of drugs called beta blockers). visit your doctor once again and if there is no specific indication, he may select a different class of drug, which may suit you. hope this helped.
