Could Productive Cough Along With Traces Of Blood Be Due To Fluticasone Propionate?

I went to see an ear, nose & throat specialist because I was having pain and pressure in my right ear. He examined both ears and prescribed Fluticasone Propionate to use once daily and nasal wash with salt and sodium bicarbonate. Also, he prescribed Zyrtec. He says is was allergies that is causing the problem. However, I have been suffering with constant cough, chest congestion and now and then when I cough and spit the phlem (yellow thick phlem) blood shows up in the phlem. If this due to the reaction of the medication. Because I did not any of these symptoms before I started on these medications. The pressure in the ear has subsided and the pain is gone

HI
Well come to HCM
Of course this could be allergic condition but chances of secondary infection may very likely and this can be well managed with the drugs given below
1) Tab Azithromycin 500 mg once in day for three days
2) Tab Loratadine with Pseudoephedrine three times in day
have some steam inhalation, drink more water, hope this information helps, take care.
