Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is true that penis burning can be due to STDs and the commonest is chlamydia. You do not have to worry as presently there are sophisticated tests to diagnose STDs.

Men will usually have a chlamydia test on a urine sample. Occasionally, a swab test may be taken from the urethra (the tube where urine comes out) at the tip of the penis.

Gonorrhoea can be easily diagnosed by testing a sample of discharge picked up using a swab. Testing a sample of urine can also be used to diagnose the condition in men

Syphilis is diagnosed by Dark-field microscopy, VDRL tests and Direct fluorescent antibody test for T pallidum.
