I have crohns disease that I was told is in remission. I still get pain in one specific spot on the left side- mid abdomen. I now have colitis and am on flagyl and cipro. Was told I have colitis on right side. Now MD wants MRE done. What else can cause the pain in the left side? thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Crohn's disease can manifest in any part of the intestinal tract, so the pain you experience can still be from CD. The pain can of course also be caused by other things, e.g. diverticulitis, hernia, kidney stones, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
