Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Your symptom nausea is not due to pleural effusion directly but it is due to drugs you are taking.
You are taking anti tubercular drugs for your pleural effusion. AKT 4 is having rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide and ethambutol. All these drugs are having side effect of severe gastritis and gastritis is the cause for your nausea.
Gastritis is also likely cause for your decrease in appetite.
To prevent this you should take proton pump inhibitors and antiemetic drugs before AKT 4.
This will reduce AKT 4 induced gastritis.
Along with AKT 4, you should take multivitamin containing folic acid, vitamin b12 and vitamin b 6. High protein diet and protein powder are also recommended in patient suffering from tuberculosis. These are needed to improve immunity and fasten the recovery.
So consult your doctor and discuss about starting these drugs.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
