Could Hiking Cause Identical Bruises On Big Toes?

I have two almost identical bruises on my big toes. I just started hiking again. Wearing a new pair of shoes for it. I have not stubbed or dropped anything on my feet. Could it be the hiking causing the bruising. They are a few weeks old and seem to be growing out with the nail. No pain.

Hi,

Such type of bruises, you can get from hiking due to frictions or minor injuries, from new footwear that cramp your feet into the front of the shoe etc. As you have already gotten bruised toenails, you can leave them alone if they are not bothering your walking, running or hiking. If they are, then you can try soaking in warm water to relieve irritation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
