General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Cervical polyps can cause an irregularity in the menstrual cycle and increased bleeding, but we cannot narrow it down to only a polyp. Other conditions like uterine fibroids, endometriosis, hormonal imbalance, and many others can also cause this. Speak to your doctor about this.

Best wishes.
