Could Draining Of Thick Green Mucus In Ears Be Due To Infection?

Ear is draining thick green mucus. I ve had a history of ear problems. Ear drum was busted when I was younger. I ve had two ear surgeries and currently have a small hole in my ear drum again. I assume its an ear infection but don t know if it s worse since I have a hole

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A history of bursting of ear drum and current drainage of thick green mucus from ears is suggestive of bacterial infection.
Green color of the mucus is suggestive of infection with Pseudomonas.
Pseudomonas is a type of gram negative bacteria which leads to formation of green colored pus or mucus.
I suggest you to consult your ENT specialist as early as possible for examination of the green colored mucus.
The mucus needs to be examined and drug sensitivity needs to be done to identify the most appropriate antibiotic effective against the bacteria.
Treatment of the infection is required followed by repair of the injury to the ear drum.
