Could Bruised Arms And Bleeding From Nose Be Due To Plavix?

I have just been put on Plavix 3 weeks ago. Had a coated stent put in same day! My arms are very bruised now & I had a nose bleed yesterday just from blowing my nose!! I m concerned about taking Plavix but afraid to just stop it because of what I ve been reading! Can I wean myself off of Plavix & just take 325 enteric aspirin? Can I cut my 75mg Plavix in half now and slowly just stop taking it? Really n eed help with this....I know my cardiologist will want me to stay on it! Thanks...drj

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are having bleeding with the plavix, your doctor may consider altering it. He would not want you to have bleeding episodes and there are alternatives.

It would be best to speak to him or her before making any changes especially to your medication.

I hope this helps
