Could Blood Tissue Vaginal Discharge During Periods Be Symptom Of Cancer?

Hello, my sister is super worried because she passed a lump/clot of tissue-like stuff. She is currently on her period. She is mostly worried because she found out recently that she had hpv and is worried the clot may be a sign of cancer of some sort. Is that possible?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

No the clot does not indicate that she has cancer.

If she had a recent pap smear then this would have checked for cervical cancer.
This cancer does not develop so rapidly

It is not unusual to pass clots during the period but if it recurs or her periods are otherwise heavy , she may need an ultrasound to check for fibroids

I hope this helps
