Could A Hard Lump In Tongue Be Swollen Gland Due To Canker Sores?

I have always suffered from canker sores and a dry mouth. The dry mouth is due to taking certain medications. I have canker sores right now and my mouth is much dryer than on other occasions. I discovered this lump inside my tongue on the right side. It is hard. It can be felt but not seen. It concerns me. Could it be a swollen gland due to the canker sores. Maybe it s something else I have an Appointment to see an ENT soon. In the meantime, I am very concerned that this lump may be some kind of stone or tumor. I was going to continue with this process until I found out it cost 35.00. Too expensive.

Hi.
Welcome to HCM

As per your complain a lump on the tongue that is not seen but felt on the tongue with a history of having recurring canker sores and dry mouth can be an inflammatory lump caused due to infection while can also be a swollen gland..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Biopsy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can do cool compresses over the lump and take anti inflammatory painkiller like Nurofen..
You can also start taking vitamin B-complex.

Hope this helps..

Regards..
