Could A Hairline Fracture Show Up As A Knot In Fibula?
I have a knot at the base of my right knee, at the head of the fibula. Had x-rayed and no specific issue showed up. IF I truly have a hairline fracture, how long will it take to heal. I can walk but sometimes have discomfort at the head of the fibula.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for writing your query It usually takes 4-6 weeks time to heal the fracture. You may put compression bandage (crepe bandage) at the fracture site. For now take ibuprofen to reduce pain and do ice fomentation. My advice for you would be- 1. Gradually increase the exercises at weekly basis and to be followed by ice fomentation. 2. Take balanced diet rich in calcium (1000mg/day) and vitamin (1000 i.u. /day) along with vitaminB12, B6.Vitamin D is available in weekly dose pattern as well as injection, just talk to your local doctor. Hope this information helps you. Take care and I shall be glad to answer any further query. Regards Dr.mukesh chugh (http://bit.ly/drmchugh) Orthopaedic surgeon
