Could A Growing, Discolored And Painful Mole On Elbow Be Cancerous?

Hi, I have a mole on my elbow that has suddenly become raised, changed from freckle colour to dark purple, has developed outwardly but unevenly and is just today painful to touch. Would it be likely to be cancerous. I m practical about these things so if it is then that s what it is :)

Hello,

A few changes in a mole that are to be cautious about being cancerous are change in color, increase in size, irregular margins, and pain to touch. As you have almost all the factors, you need to consult a dermatologist for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
