Could Minocycline Medication Lead To Vitiligo?

Hello,

I've been on 100mg Minocycline for the past two months for cystic acne and I just read that it can cause autoimmune disorders. My brother has vitiligo and I was wondering if continuing the Minocycline could cause the vitiligo to come out in me?

Thanks.

see there has not been any case of vitiligo reported due to minocycline . but since your sibling has vitiligo(which has got genetic predisposition) its consumption can act as a triggering factor for same as vitiligo is also an autoimmune disorder. you can use topical retinoids. isotrtinoin, benzoyl peroxide as an alternative.
