Could Lobster Causes Foul Smelling Gas?

Hi, Doctor. My name is Kerri. I was at Cape Cod this weekend and had delicious lobster salad. It was very fresh, not fishy at all, and didn t cause any cramps, bloating, or other troubling symptoms. However, the next day, I had the most foul-smelling gas...I couldn t stand myself! The lobster was the only different food in my diet over the weekend. I was just wondering if lobster can cause foul-smelling gas. Gross, I know, but just curious. Thank you for your input.

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of having Lobster other than the usual foods yesterday. It was not smelling, looked fresh, but that now you have started to have most foul smelling gases that you can not stand.
This indicates that the Lobster meat did not digest properly in the intestines and on the contrary caused the foul gas producing bacteria to overgrow in the intestine hence caused the foul smelling gas.
I would advise you the following:
Get a course of pre and probiotics and activated charcoal tablets.
If this does not give results you may need a stool test sand a course of an antibiotic too.
