Could Jalra Be The Cause For Hyperacidity And Vomiting?

I was taking jalra m 50/500, but I have had been having acute acidity. I also had Herpes few days back and was prescribed to various medicines to control it. Due to the medication, I had non-stop vomiting one day and had to be hospitalized due to dehydration. Then a Doctor suggested that I should switch over to Glycomet 500 instead of jalra, as it is a cause of acidity. Is this true that Jalra m 50/500 could be the cause of acidity and is it good to change to Glycomet 500?

hello user , jalra M is a combination of metformin and vidagliptin both being oral antidiabetic drugs while glycomet 500 is metformin - so both drugs having metformin as a salt , which can cause gastric upset in some patients , however it is not very severe and persistent in most cases and doctors consider the risk to benefit ration in prescribing it - so better consult a endocrinologist for your complaints , as theoretically this switching is not advisable.
