Cough, Headache. Having Chest Infection. Taking Antibiotics. Is Headache And Cough Related To Chest Infection?

Thank you... I have had a cough for 3 weeks now (started as mild cold)... and after two weeks of coughing I returned to doctor who said I have a chest infection. Am on antibiotics... 30 Curam Duo tablets 500+ 125mg 3x day. For the last two days and nights I have a bad headache which is mainly when I have a coughing fit or if I bend my head down.. Have to hold my head when I cough to try to relieve the pain. I have also started Coedine for cough 1 @ night... and dr said to stop taking Panadeine. What can I take for headache, and is this cough directly related to my chest infection? Thank you very much for your help. Jan Van Horn

Welcome to HCM.
Infection is in the upper and lower respiratory tract and headache is due to spread of infection in the sinuses particularly in the frontal sinus.
You have to continue prescribed antibiotic up to 7 to 10 days.
You can take syp. containing bronchodilator, chlorpenaramine maleat for severe coughing and nsais with decongestant for headache.
Steam inhalation will be helpful.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
