Constant Severe Stomach Cramps With Headache And Irritability. On Vyvanse. Is This Right Treatment?

My 10 year old son has been put on 50 mg of Vyvanse. He is having severe stomach cramps and shooting headache pains. The doctor seems to think these will subside with time, but it has been over two months and they seem worse. He is also now very irritable. I don't think we can keep this up. What should we do?

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

He seems to be suffering from steroid induced gastritis and duodenal ulcer. I would suggest discontinuation of use of steroid if its really not very essential.
If the doctor thinks steroids are necessary, then addition of proton pump inhibitor like Pantaprazole will be helpful in relieving symptoms.

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
