Constant runny nose and cold. Cause and cure?

21 years old, 5ft6, 8st, had my adenoids removed when i was 6 due to sleep apnea and a constant runny nose and cold. There were complications with the procedure and I had to go back into surgery after i had a nose bleed and a blood clot in my throat. However I still have the constant runny nose but the mucus is clear and very runny unlike that of when I do actually have a cold, when it is white or green. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I no longer have adenoids, the complications with the surgery etc? What other reasons are there for a constant runny nose?

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

- It has no relation to adenoid or its removal...
- Green mucus is infection...
- Clear mucus is simple inflammation or allergy
Carpets, pets, air conditioners, pollen and so on can cause allergy - the list is long.
You can go for RAST test - some allergens can be identified / if so, desensitisation can be tried...
In the meanwhile anti-histamine / leukotriene antagonists / decongestants help...
Follow up with ENT specialist

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
