Constant headache, pricking sensation at the back of head. Suggestions?

Hi, I ve been experiencing headaches on a daily basis now and this is coming from someone who rarely gets them even at all. Along with the headaches I get this cramp like feeling at the back of my head. Only way I could describe it is almost identical feeling of when u get say a leg cramp. And just a few hours ago I noticed when I tilt my head back I feel as if a couple of needles are pricking the top of my back (center). I have no insurance so any suggestions/advice/think what it is would help! Thanks in advance. 24 year old female.

welcome to HCM!

On reading your question I feel that you should meet a doctor. You say that it is difficult for you presently, so, if I had been treating you I would go for --an X Ray neck, and give you some --pain killer and muscle relaxant; these two will take care of your neck pain and cramp like feeling.

You may take the medicine for four to five days, once or twice a day
& avoid bending, extending and sudden movements of neck,
-- choose a comfortable and not a very soft pillow
If possible, get your blood pressure checked.
Follow these advices along with medicine. Still, if after a week there is no benefit, or there is something on X. Ray neck, then please arrange a meeting with a doctor.

Exact treatment in such cases can be give after examining the patient. Do not worry however, it dosent look like anything major as you never had any headaches before. So, most possibly it is a neck sprain which is troubling you.

Hope you get well soon!
