Congestion In Nose, Forehead, Sore Eyes, Sore Throat, Cold Air Causing Pain In Nose

I APPEAR TO HAVE SINUSITIS, WHICH I HAVE HAD MANY TIMES. HOWEVER, THIS TIME THERE IS VERY LITTLE MUCUS. I AM HAVING SOME PAIN AND A FEELING OF CONGESTION ACROSS MY NOSE AND FOREHEAD. ALSO, MY EYES ARE SORE IN THEIR SOCKETS. MY THROAT IS SOMEWHAT SORE BUT NOT CONSISTENTLY SORE. THESE DAYS IT IS COLD HERE AND WHEN I GO OUTSIDE, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS BLOWING, THE COLD AIR CAUSES PAIN IN MY NOSE AND ESPECIALLY ACROSS MY FOREHEAD. IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE SINUSITIS WITH CONGESTION BUT NOT A LOT OF MUCUS?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Yes there can be sinusitis and congestion without mucus drainage.
The sinusitis occurs because of the infected mucus which gets collected in the sinuses because of the blockage of the outflow tract of sinus.
The mucus gets collected because of----- exposure to cold the body reacts and the nasal skin gets edematous to warm the air and to decrease the in flow of cold air,, so the sinus outflow tract gets blocked ,,, and mucus gets collected in it,,,and then gets infected,, and is known as sinusitis.
You may require --
decrease exposure to cold, antibiotics , nasal decongestant drops, oral decongestant tablets
In doubt do reply
