Completed Medication For PTB. Chest X-ray Shows Calcified Right Hillar Nodes. Meaning?

hi,
I'm lyn 35 years old. I completed her 6 months medication for PTB, so the doctor advice her to have chest x-ray . the result are PTB, MINIMAL, RIGHT UPPER LOBE, CALCIFIED RIGHT HILAR NODES , PLEASE CORRELATE CLINICALLY. i am still worried because of the chest x-ray result.. what does it means? Hoping for your answer. hope you understand. THANK YOU..

Hi,

The chest x-ray report indicates that the PTB is healing. Calcified node in a patient who receives treatment is one of the signs of healing.

But it might not be completely healed at this time. This is why the radiologist asked for clinical correlation. So, based on this report your treating doctor will request additional tests (e.g. sputum test etc.). If all these tests return negative, your are curted. If some of them return positive, you may require further treatment for some more time.

I do not see any reason for worrying at this time.
