Complaints Of Fever, Headache. Malaria Test Negative. High Sugar Level On Fasting. The Widal Test Reflects S.typhi. Suggestions?
hi my mum is 63 years old, last week she complained of fever and headaches, upon doc's advice a CBC , sugar and malaria test was undertake. the results didnt detect malaria. However, it showed high sular level (151) on fasting and total W.B.C count high with 0000 per cu-mm (4000 - 0000) also low MCH and MCV, High Neutrophilis nd low Lymphocytes. The Widal Test reflects s.typhi 'H' titer as 1:160. (dilution used 1:80, 1:160, 1:320, 1:640)
my regular physician didnt not subscribe any medicine for her, but just advised to stop sugar intake, walks and regular diets.Also, advised test repetation after like 10 days
my mum is still complainin of slight fever in the afternoons with chills, and hedache and dizziness its been a week since the first teast was performed. she has stopped suagr intake and eats less in intervals. she also takes medication for High B.P
please advise if any course of action is required and the severity.

Your mother blood sugar level is not so high , that's why your treating doctor advised diet plan.
Your main complaint is fever with chills and weakness since 7 days .
As you mentioned that WBC was high ,so please mention exact value in query.
As you stated that she is taking drugs for high blood pressure so also mention duration of disease.
High wbc, hypertensive , weak Widal +ve , so once again repeat the Widal test as well as serum creatinine ( for kidney function test) because your mother is 63 years old as well hypertensive so prone to renal ailment.
Consult a physician and get his opinion.
