Clogged Ears, Popping Sound. Is It An Ear Or Jaw Problem?

My ear is making noise like I have cotton in it. Whether I move my jaw or smile or eat, I hear a noise like cotton & it feels a little full. If I pull on it upper or lower, it pops but goes right back to cotton sound. I'm a night time grinder/clencher & wear night guard so not sure if this is jaw or ear problem. Started about two months ago with little clicking and slowly got worse

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

As you have bruxism ( night grinding habit),there fore it appears that your night guard requires adjustment.

Please visit your dentist and get it reexamined.simultaneously an MRI for TMJ will help you see any disturbances related to its path of closure,an associated soft tissue lesions(if any developed).

Hope it helps.

please let me know for further query.

Thanks.

Take care.
