Chronic Pain Issues, Nerve Damage, Tendon In Knee Ruptured. Taking Cipro And Levaquin. How Soon Will I Feel Better?

I ve Chronic pain issues. They were blamed on minor fender bender auto accident where I was a passenger in the front seat. 3 times over 3 or 4 years ... but during that time, I was also give antibiotics for what turned out to be allergies . I ve looked over my pharmacy records & now believe I have chronic pain due to the Floroquinolone antibiotics Cipro & Levaquin. Several years later I was given Avalox & w/in a week experienced the tendon in my knee rupturing. Of coarse I questioned my doctors @ the time & they either laughed if off, didn t believe me - therefore nothing was ever put in my charts much less reported to the FDA. Now the doctors claim they don t have any of my records, because it s been 7 years. It amazes me that there is not one doctor in the Dallas FT. Worth, TX area that is educated in this field. There s not a chance of a law suit against Johnson & Johnson or Bayer ... even with the FDA s Aug.2013 putting a new black box warning on Levaquin for nerve damage ... if you haven t been diagnosed before now - no one is going to believe me or any of the hundred of people I have met through a support group. BTW I m 64 now, but all of this began in my late 40 s, mostly in my 50 s. I didn t know how this worked as I was reading an article & this site kinda POPPED up & got my attention. Hummmm You asked if You can help me ... can you? OHHHHH now I m suppose to give you $$$ Before you can answer my question ... Have any of you been educated or have any experience with patients having Floroquinolone Toxicity ? Is this the new Obama Care? (just joking) .... actually - I m on SSI disability, which broke my heart to have to stoop to this & I ve got the lowest form of medical insurance called Medicaid & Medicare is around the corner. Hello - anyone still there???

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The ruptured tendon yin the knee needs at least 6-8 weeks for healing and in some cases, a surgical repair may be needed for a complete recovery. It depends on the extent of the damage you have.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
