Chronic Fibromyalgia For Years, Severe Pain. Taking Gabapentin. What Is The Maximum Dosage That I Could Take?

I have had chronic fibromyalgia since the mid 90's and had to take early retirement at age 58 in '98 because I was in so much pain I couldn't stand to go into the office and work. I am now 73 and can no longer do any physical work, play golf, make love with my wife,etc. I have to take naps after 20 minutes of exercise to reduce the pain and I take 1100 mg of gabapentin every 6 hours throughout the night. I've tried Lyrica and Savelle, but the side effects were worse than gabapentin. What maximum dosage of gabapentin could I take to try to help my problem?

Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Fibro myalgia effects both the tissues, and the feelings. Once gets depressed it will be difficult to recover.
Though it is an end less process,i advise you some thing which may help you as with many others.
I advise my patients with such symptoms to Take injection of vitamin B1,6,and 12 for 10 cosecutive days, and then every week, fortnight, and then every month for ever. along with pain killers, and slowly getting down the dosage.
Avoid taking potato, other tubers, tomato, egg, chicken, and sea foods for some time.
take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods.
Practice easy yoga, meditation,reading books of your interest, and hearing music.Exercise may be trouble some in the begening ,but is strongly recommended.
