Child With Fever, Low Appetite, Black Tar Like Stools, Strong Urine. Is This Infection?

My 2 year old daughter has been having fever from 102 to 100 degrees for 3 days now. She hardly wants to eat and finally pooped what looked like black tar. Her urine smells strong & she says ow every now and then but doesn't tell me what hurts. She sleeps in a ball. Curled up. I'm starting to worry. Please help! Took her to the ER last night & they said she had the flu, since when does flu make you get black poop? I'm thinking she has an infection. Help!

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I understand your concern for your daughter, the intestinal infection changes the colour of stool and some time this type of colour could be due to food given to child which may be brown in colour, here right now colour of stool is not matter but the fever is more important the chances of viral infection is more likely, you can give symptomatic medicine to her Acetaminophen would be nice 300 mg in syrup base would bring the body temperature under control keep the baby well hydrated, if does not got well then she need to be examined take care of your baby and have good day.
