Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

If the swelling is persisting even after a week then it is advisable to reduce the movement at the ankle joint by immobilizing it with either crepe bandage or a cast. This will give rest to the joint and help in faster recovery.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The exact nature of the swelling will decide the speed of resolution.
If fracture has been excluded, soft tissue injury or blood clot may be responsible.
Rest to the part (Splinting if necessary & avoiding weight bearing) is important
Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs like ibuprofen reduce pain & inflammation
Cold compress in first days / later warm compress - help

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
