Child Is Lethargic. Lab Was Unable To Draw Blood. Will Try Again. Cause?

my 5 year old has been lethargic for 5 days now. He went to dr, and she ordered blood tests, but the lab was unable to draw blood. They are going to try again tomorrow. What will tehy do if that attempt fails to? What can this possibly be caused from. I dont want to cause panic but I dont want to think the worse either if its not even a possibility??

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Attempt to draw blood can fail if the lab people are inexperienced. Some times even the most experienced can fail.

If a person is in shock then it is difficult to draw blood. Since your child was examined by a doctor such conditions will be ruled out by him any way.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
