Child Having Hypergammaglobulinemia. Lowered IgG Levels After IVIG Treatments. Anything To Be Concerned?

Hi! My daughter, aged 13, has hypergammaglobulimaneia (hyperIgM, hope I spelt it right!) Anyway over the past few IVIG treatments, her IgG hs gone down slightly, from a high of 8.2 to 6.7 now, and ner IgM appears to have gone from around 5.5 to 9.74. Is this a cause for concern? The doctors here are great but they have no experience with this, they receive instruction from a specialist at the other end of the country who we're not seeing again for another couple of months.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M.Forum.
Immunoglobulins are the products of differentiated B cells and mediate the humoral arm of the immune system.

IgG 800 to 1500 mg/dl (8.0 to 15 g per liter)
IgM 45 to 150 mg/dl (o.45 to 1,5 g per liter).

No doubt the IgG has come down from 8.2 to 6.7 means less than normal.
The important thing here to keep in mind is that the level of IgM has increased.
This is the cause of concern because,
IgM antibodies against IgG molecules are if present in high titers than may be due to RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS,other collagen diseases, some infectious diseases.
Rheumatoid factor is important in this case so please consult immunologist and get in blood test for R. A. Factor( Rheumatoid factor).
Also get in blood examination for E S R ( non specific but very high indicator of some infectious disease.
Hope I have answered your query.
If further any question I will be happy to answer.
Good luck for your daughter.
