Child Has Sore Neck After Fall. Applied Heat Pack
My 5 year old son fell off the couch this morning and instantly started complaining of a sore neck. He starts crying every time he tries to move it to the right or look up. He is walking around ok, did not have concussion but is still quite upset. It happened about an hour ago. Do I need to go to ER or doctor to check it out or do I just wait a couple of days and see what happens. I have put a heat pack on it but not sure what else to do to help.

If the child is conscious and moving about you need not worry.
But you have to observe the baby for 48 hours for vomiting, drowsiness or convulsions. If any such symptoms occur you should immediately take him to ER.
Otherwise give hot pack and ibuprofen 2-3 times daily
he will recover from neck pain within 2-3 days
