Child Has Itchy, Red Rash On Buttocks, Spreading. Tried Antibiotic Cream And Zinc Ointment

My two year old toddler has developed an extremely itchy red rash on his buttocks . It seems to spread...coming out in clusters of raised bumps that look like insect bites and then blending as he scratches them and ending up scabbed over. I have tried antibiotic cream and zinc ointment and it seems to subdue the redness somewhat but not resolve the issue

I think he has a fungal infection. It is better to get him examined once to be sure.
