Child Has Flat Spot On Back Of Head. Indented In Horseshoe Shape. What To Do?

i have a 7 week old son and i noticed a few days ago that there was a flat spot on the back of his head. i realize that that is normal from laying him on his back, but now it is indented in a horseshoe shape. should i call in and make him an appointment, take him to the e.r., or just keep an eye on it until his next appointment in two weeks?

hello,
it should not be a cause of much concern for you as its quiet common in infants. at this age the skull bones are very soft and they change their shape according to the surface they are laid upon. you just have to take precaution from now onward and there is nothing to panic as of now. this will get corrected on its own over few months. so rest assured
thanks
amit
