Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Eruption of primary teeth is usually associated with symptoms like fever, irritation, diarrhea.

Since your child is having a high grade fever, irritable, and refusing feeds as well i would suggest you to get him examined by a Child Specialist, to rule out any infection and manage accordingly.
Meanwhile you continue with paracetomol drops.
Try to give him fluids.

For teething massage the gums gently 2-3 times day.

Hope this answered the query,

Regards.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Since your child is having high fever for last 3 days,I suggest you to get him examined by pediatrician to look for any focus of infection.
In the meantime give paracetamol as per dosage(15mg/kg)every 6 hourly till fever is above 100F.
Do tepid sponging if fever is above 102F.
Give plenty of fluids, fruit juices, vegetable soup and soft bland diet so as to maintain hydration and nutrition.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless..

Pediatrician, Critical Care Dr. Tejas Shah's  Response
Thanks for posting your query here.

I understand that his temperature settles only briefly following paracetamol drops.

High grade fever usually suggests some infection is going on, could be virus or a bacteria. Does he have any associated symptoms like cold, cough, urine problems (crying while passing urine) or pulling his ears etc?

I am bit concerned that he is not interested in eat or taking anything. This makes him prone to have dehydration and less energetic.

I would suggest that he needs to be reviewed by a Pediatrician to find out what infection he has got and adjust his treatment appropriately. He may need further anti-fever medicines and antibiotics if doctor feels it is needed.

Please see a Pediatrician as soon as possible. Wishing your son a speedy recovery.
