Child Had A Fall. Swelling On Side Of Head. Is It A Matter Of Concern?

my son is 2 years old and he fell from a 3 feet table. I rushed him to the urgent care but he did not let the doctors check. they said he is doing fine, let him sleep for 1 hr and then wake him up. If he does not wake up then bring him back. he woke up fine but was little drowsy. after an hr he slept again and woke up after that he was fine. he has no vomiting and he is active. he has a swelling on one side of his head above the ear.it has been 48 hrs and he is doing fine. though he is doing am little concerned about the swelling. we still haven t got the CT scan. Should I be concerned. Thank you

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your query.
Swelling is usualy sign of head hit especailly in such young childres. There is no need to be worried about this. YOu just haave to look for signs such as vomiting, too long sleep, nausea, loss of cordination, inability to walk eat and vison/hearing disorders. Nothing serious usually happens in such trauma mechanism and I dont think it is necessary to do CT and radiate your child.

WIsh you good health.
