Child Complaining Of Sore Heart With Fast Heart Beat And Heart Burn. Are They Related?

My soon to be 7 yr old daughter complains of a sore heart in the morning when she wakes up- when she gets up in morning says her heart beats fast and she seems a little out of breath. She also has had a few episodes of what I think is heart burn because she will tell me that she has thrown up in her mouth, although it doesn't burn...can these two symptoms be related? Her father and I are very healthy and there is no heart disease in the family...thanks, angie

Hi,

Your description combines two different illnesses.

Burning is suggestive of gastritis and fast heart beat has to be investigated.

So the best that you can do is take her to a pediatrician to examine and decide what she needs.

She may need an ECG to be done.

Good luck
