Child. Red And Splotchy Skin Rash On Body With Little Itching, Fluctuating Temperature, Tiredness. On Bynadryl. Advice

my daughter is 6 years old and she developed a skin rash over night last night. The rash begins on both of her cheeks. It is all over her body. It is red and splotchy...but all over. She says it itches but I have not experienced her scratching at it, atleast not uncontrollably. She has had a fever but it is inconsistant... it will be high one minute and .. down the next. She has been given Bynadryl, no pain reliever/fever reducer. The only thing she has experienced differently since yesterday is she had a cocanut milkshake...also no changes in her appatite...she is eating and drinking well...She just is really tired and her eyes are glassy...she just doesn't feel well at all....her shots are up to date---what kind of rash could this be???and what should I do?? Take her to the ER...wait to see her DR. tomorrow? Treat her myself? OR Treat her >>see if it goes away in a certain amount of time then follow up with a DR?? I need advice>>> and what can I do to give her relief and or make it better... and is it or could it be contagious??HELP!!

Hi thanks for the question. We can understand your anxiety as a parent. As per your description the child appears to have viral rash with fever. Most viral rashes appears like measles and self limiting. since the child had vaccination up to date and measles has severe rash with cold cough and redness of eyes with discharge sometimes. So you need not panic if fever is not high and her symptoms are not worsening. You can give paracetmol syrup for fever along with benadrl. Keep a close watch and if not improving consult doctor immediately
