My child's pediatrician keeps telling me she has a viral intestinal illness. She has had recurrent bouts of stomach pain (centered around the belly button), random projectile vomiting and diarrhea which is not consistent. This has been going on for 3 weeks. She has lost a significant amount of weight due to a complete loss of appetite. It has been quite a struggle keeping her properly hydrated. Yesterday she broke out in hives head-to-toe and we had to rush her to the ER for epinephrine. We cut out all dairy products. She has had all of her CDC recommended vaccines and had no prior allergies to anything. No other medical history.
