Chesty cough, burning across entire chest runs upto shoulder and arms. Reasons ?

I ve been having a chesty cough for a few days now and yesterday my arms started to hurt while coughing. The pain starts as a scratching burning across my entire chest, and it runs up my shoulder and down my right arm. Sometimes it goes all the way to my hand, other times just to my forearm . Sometimes the pain also spreads to my left shoulder and upper left arm. The pains in my arm last a longer than the pains in my chest.

Thanks for posting your query.
With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of acute upper respiratory tract viral infection with myalgia.
Myalgia means muscle ache which is a prodromal symptoms of viral infection.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for chest x ray to rule out lower respiratory tract pathology.
Meanwhile, you should take muscle relaxants along with analgesics for relief of your symptoms.
You should also take cough suppressants, decongestants, and complete antibiotics course.
Perform gargles three times in a day; a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt.
Take care,
