Can We Faint Due To Knee Locking?

I've heard you can faint from locking your knees. Is this true? If so, why does it happen? Is it cutting off venous circulation? If so, what vein and how does the act of locking your knees interfere. I'm currently a med school applicant, so please feel free to elaborate.

Thanks!

Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded to know cause of fainting after knee locking. Due to locking one gets pain which may be severe sometimes. Severe pain leads to a condition called vagovagal shock leading to sudden drop of blood pressure leading to fainting due to sudden decrease in blood circulation of brain. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any further questions then don't hesitate to writing to us . I will be happy to help you.
